Quick take: unfortunately permanently closed
Best item: walnut prawns
Times are tough for vegan businesses, especially restaurants. It sadly seems like there is a closure every other day, this is the case with Vegan District Asian Eatery. By the time I got around to making this post, we have learned that both locations have closed down. Although it might be illogical at this point to even make this post, but our hope is that we can maybe learn collectively from closures, and start a conversation as to what the vegan community needs from dining out and what makes a sustainable restaurant.
The crispy oyster mushrooms ($18.95) was a fairly large portion, the breading was different than the usual salt and pepper version. It was on the thicker side and the seasoning wasn’t evenly applied. All that being said it was still pretty good.

The walnut shrimp ($17.95) was also heavily breaded but even still this is the best vegan version of this iconic dish we have come across.

Of course, we tried the cucumber salad ($4.95) and it was pretty good.

This brings us to the question, what happened? Honestly, the whole experience was pretty good and we would have returned if we were in the area.
