It can be difficult to find vegan options in smaller cities, so it is always appreciated when restaurants put in the effort to have clearly labeled options. Unfortunately, sometimes the effort doesn’t always translate to good food. Kaz Ramen is such a case. One bonus however, is they are open 24/7, which is amazing if you need a late late night meal, as we did. That being said, unfortunately the wait was very long for a 2 item order at nearly 1 am. We didn’t time it, but from ordering it took roughly an hour.

This was the vegan ramen with tofu and woodear mushroom add-on ($13.50). It was very average to under average. The broth had decent flavor but super salty, the toppings were kind of plain, and it was missing the green onion. Did they like run out or something? If so that is something they should have informed me.

This is a small order of the vegan fried rice ($6.50). It was very greasy and did not have green onions as well. The only thing that was good about this was the corn, which was likely from a can. I was hungry enough to finish it, but there was literally a pool of oil at the bottom of the container after.
Ratings:
Hipster 1: 1.5/10 – not worth your time or money
Hipster 2: 2/10 – they get one point for having vegan options on their menu
