Quick take: just a couple vegan flavors, but clearly labeled
Best item: Bulko chia
Creme Caramel LA is a Filipino-American bakery/dessert spot in Sherman Oaks. It is not a fully vegan spot, but does have clearly marked vegan custards. Online they have 4 vegan flavors, but the day we arrived there were only two available: Buko chia ($5.95) and the Maja blanca ($5.95). They also have vegan pandesal (pastries) online.
The green one (Buko) was a chia pudding that was creamy and decadent. The white one (Maja) had corn and coconut flakes. Service was very nice and enjoyed seeing our pup there.
Ratings:
Hipster 1: 7.2/10 – green one was good, tasted rich and decadent.
Hipster 2: 5/10 – the buko was good, but the maja was weird to me.
