Quick take: huge selection, some very good items
Best item: pear tart
We were finally in the neighborhood and stopped by Toluca, which is an all vegan bakery. First thing to mention is they have a lot of items to chose from, so we were only able to sample a very small fraction. Also, I forgot to get the prices; next time I will.
This is the pear tart and cheesecake. The pear tart is excellent vegan or not. It has excellent flavor and is not too sweet. The cheesecake is probably the best vegan cheesecake I have ever had, it is on the dense side, reminding me of a New York style cheesecake. Crust is probably a classic graham cracker base.
They call these coffee cakes, but they remind me more of danishes. The bread part is very nice, buttery and flaky. The cherry filling is pretty good, but in my opinion it would have been better with fresh or even frozen cherries. That being said, I get it. The guava filling is very sweet but flavorful. It is a bit too sweet for me, but if you have a sweet tooth, this pastry is good.

Hipster 1: 7/10 – pear tart is the best
Hipster 2: 8/10 – a lot of other items to try, but half the items we tried were good, and other half were excellent
